

Janmashtomi:-
Janmashtomi is another important festival in Bangladesh which celebrated by Hindu religion. Janmashtomi means the birthday when Loard Krishna was born. It is celebrated in mid-August to mid- September. This day is public holiday. Hindu people fast on this day, usually a waterless fast. They spend the day immersed in Shri Krishna's glory by reading or singing his divine leela. Especially in the evening in the temple. At mid night the Lord's birth hour, arti is performed. After that every Hindu women cook different types of delicious dishes in their family . But in their dishes 'Makhan' (butter) is especially included. Because ShriKrisna loved this in child hood. Th
e most interesting item is made on the occasion is the traditional prasad called "Panchajiri". Which made of five ingredients: Powered ginger,'suva', coriander, sugar and ghee. Other ingredients include poppy seeds and dessicated coconut shavings.
