Chaitra Utshab:-

Chaitra utshab is another festival in Hindu society. Basically this festival is a village festival. This festival is celebrated in the month of chaitra in every year. The day before pohela Baishakh and the last day of the Bangla year is called chaitra utshab. It's another name is "Chaitra Shankranti". All the Hindu villagers participate to celebrated this day. In north Bengal there is a traditions of cooking a special kind of "Khichuri" on chaitra shankranti. The Khichuri require 7 types of shaak, of one them have to be titaari shaak. In this day there is also enjoyed a charak Mela. In this mela is celebrated by "Dhukies"(drummers) all around of Bangladesh and west Bangladesh. All through Chaitra, dukhies dance and rejoice on the streets and market places of villages together with the rhythm of their drums. But it is a regret matter that, the practice of this Chaitra utshab is declining day by day.
